Wedding card

At long last - I have not been doing much crafting due to the sunny weather, but here is a card I have made for my cousins wedding, using a Lily of the Valley stamp which I just love, I shall be entereing the card on this weeks challenge at Papertake weekly... have used new punches on it that I treated myself too, as well as the lovely pins I got in Hobbycraft... went to town on this card and am quite pleased with the results...

wedding card order

Here's a wedding card I have been asked to make for a friend at work - my first time using the lovely fancy pins which I got from Hobbycraft, 30 for £2.99 which I thought pretty good, I also got the leaf punch up there but want another more 'spikey' leaf that I've seen used on lots of cards lately - hmm, my making cards for others doesnt 'make' me much as I just want more goodies then!!!! Anyway, this is also to be used in 2 challenges this week, Papertake weekly - a sketch challenge which I've turned a bit, and also the monthly challenge at Sir Stampalot for the use of punches....

Dad's birthday

Busy with mens cards as June see's my dads birthday as well as fathers day, so here's dad's birthday card, he and mum travel loads so thought a travel inspired card would be ideal, using 'Heartfelt Stickers'.... and its my entry into Cute Card Thursday - no designer papers!

Another fathers day make here, using Emma's image as its perfect for Fathers day, just coloured differently for my last, not sure which is for my own dad and one of course for dad-in-law...

Pink and girly

A nice girlie pink card here, for my ex-sister in law, the image is one I received in a swap over on the Trimcraft forum, I love it and find the swaps a great way of getting a range of images to see which ones you would use a lot of... Using this one as my entry for the challenge on Papertake Weekly sketch challenge too...

A few cards to upload today - ones I've made over this week and just finishing off, adding greetings etc... so here is the first, a thank you card for Emma for the fabbie pens I won in her blog challenge, I've coloured this image using the new Copics and some of my pro-markers... i cant decide which I like best but love em all!!!

A lovely weekend

Hope you have all enjoyed the sunny weekend - I'm a summer time girl so its perfect for me, we enjoyed family BBQs and generally relaxed in the garden... here's a pic my youngest son Harry took of Rocco... we lost our old dog Bailey a few weeks back which was hard but she had been poorly so we knew it wouldnt be long... looks like Rocco enjoyed the sun too - really he was way to hot and didnt know what to do with himself.

Hannah's birthday

Its my stepdaughter Hannah's 15th birthday next week - I love making girlie cards as you can go totally ott on embellisments and glitter! I cant take the credit for the design as I copied it from Caz over at 'aloadofoldblogocks' blogspot but it was just perfect for Hannah's birthday, and the digi image is a freebie - click here to bag it for yourself http://stamphappens.com/shop/images/maddiefeb.jpg

Someone Special challenge

This weeks challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is to make a card for Someone Special - so here's my entry, its for my friend Melody' who's birthday is on Monday, using digi images from DigiStamp Boutique, and K and Co papers... I loved these muted colours...

My first Word Book

My first attempt at a word book - for Kian's baptism which is tomorrow (fingers crossed for more sunshine...?!), I printed the letters out on the PC and assembled the book using my Bind-it-All - it was fun to do and I'm pleased with how its turned out, and thanks go to a Trimmie member for the idea and tips on making it (saving me buying a special CD or wording templates!)

Freebie stamps from Papercraft Essentials

A little card made to go in with an image swap over at Trimcraft, cant wait to get my new images and must stamp mine out ready to send too...

Tissue box

I did a workshop last Saturday over at A1 cards in Creaton (Northants) and here's my creation, a tissue box cover made from a template - using thick card they are quite sturday and of course decorated however you want... maybe more will be made for gifts later in the year!

How exciting is that! I am so thrilled to win and a huge Thank You to Emma for the chance of winning and really good luck with all your fund raising.

Ronnie relaxing

Here's the card I created for the challenge on Emma's blog, the proceeds of the sale of the digi image are going to the Yorkshire air ambulance, and once you read Emma's story I'm sure you'll agree what a worthwhile cause it is (see pic in image bar on the right, you can get to Emma's blog via the Pollycraft link).

Hello and isnt it just lovely to see some great spring weather, got some seeds planted this morning and managed to make time to make a card! Its a wedding anniversary card for my sister - done in yellow and green so I can use it for the challenge over at Cute Bears Challenge - I had entered one of my red engagement cards - before I read the rules of it being yellow/green! Oops!

Enjoy the sun... Helen x

Hi again...

Hope you all had a good Easter and didnt eat too much chocolate....! (and why not!)... Today's creation is another engagement card, it all seems to be Engagements lately, this for a friends daughter who is having a party next week, she once saw one of my cards and said the creator of that should be paid millions!!! So why arent I a millionaire I ask. Anyway, here it is and I hope she will like this one as much, using the beautiful Penny Johnson stamp again and those lovely paper roses... This one will also be used in this weeks challenge over at
http://justcutebears.blogspot.com/

Merry Easter... my gifts to the adults in the family this year is a bottle of wine, so I wrapped it simply with tissue paper, added a bow and some jelly sweet lollies and made the 'Merry Easter' tag!

Helen x
Hi everyone... a surprise engagement for my friend Annette and partner Eddie, engaged on April Fools Day - but we never thought he would ask so are thrilled for the pair of them, had to make a card of course, so he it is, using a gorgeous Penny Johnson stamp and the new roses I was dying to use...

Monday, 29 March 2010

Hooray - I finished all the invitations today! Hats off to anyone who makes invitations regularly, I love making cards but variety is the spice of life I say!!! So just one Easter card today, made for hubby using an image I received in a swap arranged on Crafts By Carolyn - its such a lovely image I didnt want to overpower it with embellishments so left the card fairly simple... Have used this card to enter this weeks blog candy over at Cute Card Thursday - here's the link

Easter

Managed to do a few more Easter cards today, I'm a bit behind and disorganised this year but think I've made all the cards I need too... just a few more eggs to buy. The sheep stamped imaged came in a swap arranged on the Crafts by Carolyn forum, I had lots of different images and it was a real treat to get an envelope full in the post along with the usual bills!

Another Easter card using the same stamp, this card to be used as my entry in this weeks Papertake Weekly sketch challenge, more spring like colours this time, and on Monday this card will be bouncing along to my bunny rabbit loving friend Joan.

Easter cards - at long last, I really feel behind this year, thats with me doing so many Christening invites - did 40 more today so a welcome break to use this cutey free stamp from Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. This card isnt traditional Easter colours bt I am quite pleased with how its turned out...

Thursday, 25 March 2010

At the workshop we also made a card, we did use a DoCrafts rose stamp but after I coloured mine using a watercolour I was not at all happy with it! (I had used a paint brush and not a my favoured Koi water brush) so it looked very heavy handed, when I got home I changed the image for a lovely hedgehog by Penny Black and the card is now winging its way to my Aunt for her birthday!

bye for today... Helen xx
Yesterday my friend Karen and I attened a workshop run over at Grafton Crafts, and here is what we made - a ribbon box - now if you could see the jumble my ribbons are in you'd know I did need a storage system! This is fine for the ribbons and I'm quite pleased with it (apparently you can by the box blanks from Woodware), we did a patchwork design and used the Docrafts butterfly punch. It was good fun and a good excuse for a pub lunch afterwards as it finished at 12.30!!!
At long last... it seems to be ages since I blogged, after a weekend away in Devon I just dont seem to have had much time for anything... anyway, on to crafting, I have been very busy making Christening invitations... they want 176!!! Eek! 80 down so nearly half way, phew! Obviously it had to be a very simple design for that quantity, and lucky I have a week off work to get on with them.

Sunday, 14 March 2010

Happy Mothers Day to all mums out there! I was spoilt with flowers, chocs and bubble baths... Just one card today, for the challenge on the sugar Bowl... it had to be a Sugar Nellie design and incorporate stars somewhere, I struggled with the stars as the design doesnt lend itself to stars but found the greetings stamp with stars on and the centre of the flower is a sort of flower brad!

Back to work tomorrow so no posts for a few days... so enjoy for now, Helen x

Saturday, 13 March 2010

Forgot to mention - I got the image from http://valentines-sharni-clair.blogspot.com/ - the girlies over there are kindly offering 6 freebie images, just for a stamped addressed envelope!!! Isnt that kind!

Hi... another card I've just made with the lovely Newtons-law image - a freebie too, just hop over to Newtons-law.com and click on 'colouring' theres a selection of really cute pics. The wording is perfect too! I think this card will be for my aunts birthday in a few weeks.
Hi to everyone and welcome to my new followers - managed to upload a few piccies today, and next must go and enter them for the various challenges I am joining in with this week. I really am a sucker for a freebie - doing the shopping in Morrisons this morning I spotted the latest edition of Simply Cards and Papercraft with freeie stamp set, 'Fat Cats' by David Parkins - they are great fun and should make good cards for my cat loving friends!

Bye for today, Helen x
Have I bitten off more than I can chew?! Our lovely grandson Kian is to be Baptised in May and I offered to make the invitations - how lovely - until I found out they were inviting 200 guests!!! eek!!! Guess I'm going to be busy, especially as the Baptism is in May! So I have come up with 2 designs for Sam to choose from, very basic and easy as I will be limited on time... I wonder which one she will go for...
Another sketch challenge - this time for Cute Card Thursday. I'm very new to sketch challenges and really like having a 'plan' to work to.... I do tend to get stuck into a rut of doing the same designs over and over!!!! The stamped image was kindly sent to me along with a friendship card via DoCrafts, I think its lovely!
Hello again... been a good few days since I posted so hope to get a bit done today. This card is for the DoCrafts sketch challenge, to be honest I'm not overly pleased with it - certainly not my best work!!!!

Back again... just made a card for the DoCrafts card exchange, we find our partners tomorrow and send off our cards. I hope my 'partner' will like this card, I hope its inspiring.
Hello!

Today I've posted a picture of how I store my stamped images, very simply a covered and decorated box, alongside it is a jar I keep my prima flowers in... though I am loving the rose bud type flowers I'm seeing a lot of on cards these days so guess that may be my next purchase!!!

Been to aqua aerobics and walked the dogs this morning - very active, must be time for a coffee and cake!!!
